Der Bruder von Johann W. (dessen Frau wurde wegen ihrer kurzen Schritte „Tippeltantchen“ genannt) nahm Cäcilie, als sie 18 war, nach Berlin mit, wo sie eine Zeit lang in seiner Gaststätte arbeitete. Als Carl Speckan 1933 (?) nach Berlin ging, fing sie bei ihm als Haushälterin an (Luisenstraße [heißt heute anders] 30, Babelsberg, Berlin). Text anlässlich des Begräbnisses in Vernon, BC: Cecilia Martha (Wojewski) Krawzik was born on February 20, 1909, in Chmelenz Kreis Lauenburg Pommern (Germany). At the age of 18 Cecilia moved to Berlin to work. There she met and married her husband Carl Krawzik. It was also in Berlin, where her only child, Hans was born. In 1953, the family immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Then in 1969, Cecilia and Carl moved to the Coldstream District near Vernon, BC. There they both worked hard to create a beautiful home, a little orchard, a large garden and Cecilia planted many flowers. This is where they planned to retire and spend the rest of their lives. But in 1975, at the age of only 64, Carl passed away. Cecilia continued to live on the acreage until March of 1990. It was then that she decided to move to Edmonton to be near her family. Four days prior th her 93rd birthday, on February 16, 2002 at 1:35 AM, Cecilia peacefully passed away. Her wish was always to return to her beloved Vernon, and to be buried next to her husband Carl, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Cecilia is survived by one sister, Monika, the youngest of 12 children, who lives in Poland. She also leaves behind: her son Hans and his wife Vera of Edmonton, AB; three grandchildren, Anthony of Surrey, BC; Grace and her husband Terry of London, ON; and Helen and her husband Doug, and their three children, Kristopher, Jonathan and Theodore, of Edson, AB. | |||
